Avondale Parks, Recreation and Libraries Department proudly presents Neighborhood Movie Nights, as part of the exciting line up of events for this season. The September movie feature will be the popular Disney feature  “ Wreck-It Ralph,” showing on Saturday, September 29.

The movie night will be held at Mountain View Park, 201 W. Mountain View Drive, Avondale, which is located adjacent to the Avondale Community Center.

Families are invited to bring folding chairs or blankets to sit on. The event is free to attend.  The movie start time will be at dusk; families are encouraged to arrive as early as  5:30 p.m. to reserve their spot and to take part in pre-event festivities and games.

The movie night event commemorates the re-opening of the park, after renovations completed this summer.    Recent upgrades are part of a $1.1 million neighborhood park improvement plan; three park sites are undergoing summer construction --  Mountain View, DeConcini, and Fred Campbell parks.  Improvements to Mountain View Park include new picnic benches, tables, and picnic shelter area, as well as an updated sand volleyball court, and turf and irrigation improvements. As a way to celebrate the re-opening Avondale Parks & Recreation staff will be providing free food and beverages, while supplies lasts.  Free games, and bounce house will also be on site!
